Continuing Education

Supervision and Consultation

Supervision/consultation is available from all Family Therapy Associates (FTA) partners either individually or in a group format. Groups generally consist of 4 – 6 therapists who meet once or twice a month. During these groups, case consultations are provided through any and all of the following modalities: live supervision, video tape and case discussion.

Additionally, we offer consultation to agencies and work groups. We presently do ongoing consultation with several agencies in the Southeastern Michigan area, working at times with administrators, supervisors or staff.

Supervision from an AAMFT approved Supervisor is available.

EMDR

EMDR consultation groups are available, including groups for Certification in EMDR and for Approved Consultants-in-Training.

For consultation groups in EMDR, contact Zona Scheiner, Ph.D. and Bennet Wolper, MSW, Approved Consultants and Peggy Holtzman, MSW, Consultant-in-Training.

For information on training and other workshops in EMDR, visit EMDR or EMDR International Association.

Training for Therapists

As part of our mission to help clinicians master both the technical and personal aspects of treatment, FTA offers several experiences in supervision, consultation, and training. Training experiences are offered at different levels of involvement: a brief workshop, an extended course, an on-going supervision experience.

Topics range from EMDR and Attachment Issues, Adolescent Development, Person of the Therapist, Psychotherapy and Spirituality, and Working with Difficult Clients.
